Rich has had a very disappointing 2001 season. He prepared a new chassis over the winter and moved from Fulton to the Can-Am track this year. He started the season well, but a serious crash put the car out of commission for nearly a month. When Rich returned to the track with a repaired car, he again started off well, but his 2001 season ended prematurely when the motor blew during a race at Can-Am.

Rich is planning on coming back strong in 2002, with a brand new motor, as well as a backup. This year, he will return to Saturday night racing at Fulton Speedway, his home track for many years.
